Sierra Tahoe Bigfoot Research

This site is dedicated to the research of bigfoot, and it's habitat, in the Tahoe and outlying Sierra region of Nevada and California. We listen to witnesses who want to talk about their experiences, and keep them confidential unless otherwise requested. Our mission is to learn as much as we can about the possible existence of the sasquatch, in the hope that we can all gather a better knowledge of the species, then ultimately, we as a race understand that it's habitat, and way of life, must be protected.

SASQUATCH: Possible Bigfoot Sighting And Photo

I received a report from a woman named Lisa. She was able to get a photo of what she had seen. Though it is not a clear picture of an upright creature, the proportion of the limb that is visible in the photo seems too long to be a bear. The subject's posture, in Lisa's photo, reminds me of that in the Jacob's Creature photos from Pennsylvania. Click here to see those photos.

Here's Lisa's account in her own words and her photo below:

It was November 2009 my daughter and new granddaughter of 8 months where out for a drive and taking photos, my daughter being a new mother exhausted asleep and granddaughter asleep. So I decided South Lake Area would be a nice drive. I had went up to the parking area took a couple of photos and then started back down and saw the pond on the way up so I thought it would be a pretty photo on my way back down. I pulled over thought nice, I looked around for the shot I wanted then I noticed a big black something that was not moving I thought maybe a bear, dead stump or log so I took the photo zoomed in a bit to capture the shot I wanted of the mountain and pond, trees, then I lowered my camera. When I realized it was none of what I thought I wanted to full zoom on it and get a photo. By the time I raised my camera to get a full zoom shot it was gone. This all happened with in seconds.
I know that it was still for a few minutes then I believe it knew I was watching it so it went to hide. A bear would not have been so still for that long. I have seen and been around plenty of bears in my life. I grew up here, I know what I saw and it was not a bear. When I returned home I loaded my photos to my laptop and that's when I saw how it was bent over a large boulder frozen still.
Lisa.

BIGFOOT: Fishermen Hear Possible Vocalizations at Collins Lake, CA

I received a report from Lenny Green about possible vocalizations him and his son heard while fishing at Collins Lake, which is on the Northwest side of the Sierra Nevadas, near the town of Grass Valley, CA. I apologize that I haven't had a chance to post this sooner as it happened at the end of June. He gave me his permission to pass this on to my readers. Here's what he wrote:

"Hi ...

My son and I went fishing a couple of weeks ago at Collins Lake, which is between Grass Valley and Gridley, CA.
We were on the east side of the lake at 8am on a Wednesday morning and there were few on the lake.
We heard what I now know was an almost duplicate of the 1973 Puyallup, Wa scream.
It occurred about four times ... maybe five if we missed the first one. It was quite distant from us... I would have to
estimate far over the ridge ... maybe 1 1/2 to 2 miles away ... sounded to us as if it were coming from the east of Collins Lake.

Wasn’t sure if this is an area you work or not.

Good luck ...

Lenny Green"

>>>CLICK HERE to hear the Puyallup Screams on the BFRO website.

For those of you who aren't familiar with Lenny Green, he is an avid bigfooter, and musician who has written multiple songs on the subject of bigfoot. I hope he doesn't mind me saying that he reminds me of Johnny Cash blended with a little Burl Ives. Go to his website to her his, good ole fashion, red blooded American style of music!

www.LandoftheBigfoot.com

My buddy Woodrat doesn't listen to music. The only thing I've heard him listen to is Lenny's CD, which is the only CD he keeps in his truck. Please visit Lenny's site, and support him and his great music.

Thanks again for the report Mr. Green!

Bigfoot: A Trip into the Sierras

A fellow sasquatch enthusiast, Barry, contacted me a few months back, and we traded some ideas back and forth in regards to him wanting to take a trip up to the Sierras to do some scouting around. He was gracious enough to share some pictures for us to enjoy of a couple trips he took over the past few weeks.

Though he didn't have any interaction, he did come across an interesting tree break that he didn't notice until he got home. Below is a great game cam picture, where he captured a picture of a coyote, but also on the right side of the photo, there is a small pine tree with the top snapped and hanging down. It is a rather sharp break that could be explained as snow load, but because of the nature of the clean break, I think it could have been snapped by other means. Nonetheless, it is a great photo.

More of Barry's photos from the Desolation Wilderness, south of Lake Tahoe, from the weekend of June 2, 2012:

The previous weekend of May 26th, Barry and his fiance Jen, took their dogs out to an area near the San Joaquin River. There was snow coming down one day, and Spring sunshine the next, showing the power of mother nature, especially in the Sierras. This just drives home the point, that when venturing out, you should always be prepared for extremes in weather.

I want to thank Barry and Jen for sharing their pictures with us. I'm always glad to show off the beauty, and the sheer squatchiness of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

World's Rarest Gorilla Makes Camera-Trap Debut

(Rob Muir, REUTERS)They wandered into camera range deep in the jungle of Cameroon's Kagwene Gorilla Sanctuary. The Cross River gorilla is the world's rarest. No more than 300 are believed to exist in the wild. The species has been decimated by habitat destruction, their range taken over by farms and natural resource exploitation. For the Wildlife Conservation Society, whose researchers installed the camera trap in February, the images were an unexpected but thrilling surprise. The troop appears healthy, although one of their number is missing a right hand, evidence, say the WCS, of the presence of snares within the family group's range in the past. The conservation group hopes its footage will draw global attention to the gorilla's vulnerability and spark efforts to help it survive.

Notice their apprehension as they approach the camera trap. This is in a Gorilla sanctuary, where they are known to live. This is the first footage that has been taken of the Cross River Gorilla. See the parallels?

SASQUATCH: Research and Shooting.... REALLY???

Autumn Williams, at Oregon Bigfoot, wrote a piece on her blog about what a long term witnesses view is on some techniques being employed by most researchers today. That's not all, but it's the gist of it. If you are a researcher, aspiring to start, or if you're just into everything "bigfoot," I highly recommend that you read it.

Click Here to read Shooting Sasquatch: A long-term witness perspective, on the Oregon Bigfoot Blog.

Autumn has the trust of several long-term witnesses who share their experiences with her, and she wrote about one of those witness experiences in her book, Enoch: A Bigfoot Story (pictured above)In her latest blog article, Autumn and a long-term witness make some great points about mainstream research techniques. In a radio interview, I once referred to Autumn as the "Fairy Godmother to the Sasquatch." I meant that as a compliment. I don't think that there is a bigger advocate for the well being of the bigfoot, than Autumn Williams. I have always admired her for that. When I was just starting out as an armchair bigfoot blogger, her Oregon Bigfoot site, especially her blog, was one of the places that I learned a lot from. The other place I absorbed a lot was on Cliff Barackman's blog.

When I started to go out into the field, I decided to use an approach where that if there were bigfoot in the area, I would try to habituate them to me. If I found evidence of possible bigfoot activity, I would keep returning to that area. I wore the same shirt, pants and cap, every time, to be recognizable. I wanted them to see that I was respectful, and quiet, and show that I was not a threat. Whenever I stopped for a break, I'd eat an energy bar, fruit or whatever, and I'd leave some behind as a gift, as if I was sharing. To me, it's not "baiting" because I'm sharing what I have, and hopefully they watch me eat. I always took these breaks going up the mountain, and on the way back, what I left behind was gone. More than likely, it was taken by birds, woodchuck, squirrel or raccoon, but I always wanted to show that I was sharing. I didn't tree knock or make calls. That was my routine on day trips.

Then I started to overnight, with my buddy Woodrat. We employ much of the same techniques. I wear the same clothes, no deodorant for 3-4 days we're out there. I only change socks. If the sasquatch have an acute sense of smell, I want them to become familiar with my scent. I wear the same clothes as I wore on my one day trips. Woodrat's area was about 20 miles from my research area, with a viable travel corridor of valleys, and a river connecting my area to his. It is a migration path that I believe the same sasquatch family group could use as they move around to forage for food. I wanted to remain familiar if they are.

I digress..... Back to Autumn's blog.

I don't like bashing or talking bad about other researchers. I'll try not to in this case. This article brought out a very disturbing bit of information that I wasn't aware of. The reason she referenced "Shooting" in the title, was that there was an incident where a researcher shot at a bigfoot to "collect a specimen." Are you freakin SERIOUS??? REALLY??? The Texas Bigfoot Research Conservancy.... Yes! "Conservancy!" On their website, they describe the incident, which occurred during their "Operation Endurance," which covered several weeks in the summer of 2011. In their report, they wrote, "The TBRC investigator fired upon the animal with an auto-loading shotgun in an attempt to collect a specimen." Then they further described how they went tracking the "animal" by looking for blood spots left behind. Just as if they were hunting deer. I'm totally sickened by how they so matter-of-fact-ly, discuss the blatant attempt to kill a sasquatch, all in the name of research. How can they even call themselves "Conservancy?" Who the ______ do they think they are!?!?!?!? To me, it's like an anthropologist going to the Amazon and shooting a member of a pygmy tribe, so they can "collect a specimen," and prove their existence to the world. It's not like we're collecting insects or rodent's here! Sasquatch are far too near human, to be considered a "specimen." I'm sure I'll get some hate mail, but that's fine. I'm entitled to my opinion and so are they. I know 99% the bigfoot community does not condone this. Read the Operation Endurance report by Clicking Here.

What's more egregious is that they may have wounded one. So, what does that group of bigfoot think of humans now? What will they do to protect their family from human's? What would you do? I know what I'd do! Anyone who came into my home, uninvited, who I think might harm my family, will probably not leave alive. So how are these particular sasquatch going to react the next time a human is around? This was totally reckless and irresponsible on the TBRC's part. I've yet to read anywhere that they did not condone the behavior of the shooter. If they have, I apologize, but I've yet to find such. My eyes are literally buggin out of my head right now. My blood pressure is about to make my brain explode. What about you?

Then there's the whole "Sierra Kills" incident, which I've never addressed. I truly hope it's a hoax. Where Justin Smeja supposedly killed those 2 bigfoot, is an easlily traveled route, about 30 miles from where Woodrat and I have our suspected group moving trough. Because of real life issues, Woodrat and I haven't had the chance to overnight up there since the supposed shooting. I'm extremely disturbed at the fact that the sasquatch, we were trying to establish a rapport with, may have fallen victim to human stupidity. It's disturbing all together.

"There's no one in the world who causes more trouble than humans. They drive me crazy! I get so mad when I think about humans, I could scream!" ~Snoopy

Politics, Negativity and Sasquatch

I'm relatively new to the world that is "Bigfoot Research." (2.5 years) In that short amount of time, I've noticed an inordinate amount of politics and negativity, compounded by the huge egos of a few squatchers, in the research/blogging community.

The only reason I bring this up is because, my squatchin buddy, Woodrat, was getting tired of all the severe negativity directed at the photo released by Melissa Hovey. There's a big difference between criticism, and blatant negative assault. There's has been way too much of the latter, and this was the final straw for him. Woodrat wrote the following to get some of what he's feeling off his chest:

Negativity in the Sasquatch Research World

I have been squatching for over 10 years . And it was when everyone, well not everyone in the squatching community had a great positive outlook. Now it seems like everybody is more interested in tearing apart the person who posts any possible evidence they might have found. They can be very vindictive and some times just ruthless in there remarks. Yes, I will admit that there are more hoaxes and just plain stupid stuff out there, in my area that I squatch in. There has been a big increase in hoaxes ever since all the sasquatch shows have become popular on TV. Now it seems like you can not go near a campground at night without hearing someone out in the near by woods screaming there heads off, or trying to beat a tree to death.

The worse thing is all the idiots and crackpots putting on ghillie suits or costumes trying to scare people around hiking trails and roads, this is not only crazy but could be deadly to the hoaxer for a couple reasons. First, there are people actively trying to shoot a sasquatch. Scare the wrong person you could also get shot. Second, the worse thing, it's making the sasquatch world nothing but a big joke to most people, then we make it worse, when we the sasquatch research community can do nothing but tear each other apart with nothing but negative criticism about each others work.

If the bigfooting community does not get its act together, and start acting respectful to one another, we will never get above just being a joke to most people. I do understand we will never get rid of the "arm chair," so called researcher that has never stepped into the woods, those who will never get into the woods to do research, but just sit at home bashing the researchers that are working in the field. I do thank some at home researchers that have helped immensely with cleaning up videos and sound files and there work of putting reports together. To them, I do say, "Thank you." We need to work around the disrespect, to build back our reputation to ever be considered a viable field of research.

I do realistically believe we will have a hard time of it, for we have lost all, if not most of our credibility. I truly thank all those who have stuck with it and even have put there professional reputations at risk to keep sasquatching, to go out into the woods, and do the research needed to scientifically prove to the world that sasquatch DO or DON'T exist, even though we all know they do.

For those of you fellow squatchers that have kept the faith through all the negativity that we are dealing with at this time, let's get back to work. Support those who are publishing the unbiased information, and most of all, ignore the negative elements that are hindrance to our psyche. Go squatching! Have fun, and be safe.

By Woodrat the Sasquatch Searcher

Craig Woolheater wrote a piece on Cryptomundo, about Jeff Meldrum's side of the Sierra Kills story. I just read this last night: Jeff Meldrum Addresses Sierra Kills Rumors. I want to thank Craig for writing the article, and it just made me all the more aware that I need to get on Cryptomundo more often.

This is a great example of how Dr. Jeff Meldrum, the one man who gives bigfoot research the most credibility, can get thrown under the bus. Read the article.

I'm a hobbyist. Most researchers are. Some haven't even been out in the field, nor have they ever seen or been near a squatch. Yet these few individuals want to tear other people down. Yes, many over embellish stories. Yes, some even make things up. It's sad that people have to do that. All I can say is, "Knock it off already!"

Luckily, I've had little negativity thrown at me. I could care less when it does come. I'm not looking for notoriety, or a pat on the back from anyone. I do this for myself. I do it because I enjoy it. PERIOD.

NEVADA SASQUATCH: Jordan's Bigfoot Encounter on Mysterious Universe

Benjamin Grundy and Aaron Wright, from Mysterious Universe, read Jordan's Nevada Bigfoot encounter on their podcast, Episode 707. They do a terrific job as story tellers and help recreate the scene. They cover a variety of cryptozoology and parnaormal type topics that most of us, of the squatchier persuation, like to hear about.

BIGFOOT: Battle Mountain, Nevada 1999 Forest Fire and an Injured Sasquatch

In Thom Powell's book, The Locals, he writes about his discussion with a government employee, of an injured bigfoot that was sedated, treated for burn trauma and then released. It is a compelling account of how a sasquatch was saved by humans, and the government cover-up that followed. The parallels to Jordan's encounter in the same region prompted me to introduce you to the Battle Mountain Fire incident, for those of you who have not yet read about it.

SASQUATCH: A Clear Picture of a Bigfoot? This Very Well Could Be

Melissa Hovey has released this photo on her blog, The Search For Bigfoot. The photo is copyrighted by the American Bigfoot Society, and should only be used for educational purposes, and with leaving the copyright stamp at the bottom of the page. Please read more by clicking here.

Here are my thoughts on the photo:

-Hair looks to be coming out of the skin, not mottled clumps glued to a suit.

-The detail seen in the skin. Most notably, an apparent recent wound on the lower left trapezius, that looks to have had dermis exposed and then it healed over. The skin also seems to have dirt built up, with splotchy dark spots around the pores. This is caused by the oils in the skin, exuded out the pores and then having the dirt build up around the pores, getting trapped by the oil.

-The thinning gray hair, just as we'd find on an older human. If you were going to hoax, wouldn't it be easier to use so much fur, that you couldn't see skin and need to do all that cosmetic work to the skin to make it look realistic?

-The musculature, especially the deltoids and how the trapezius rise up to the base of the skull, leaving no visible neck.

-It could be a very well done suit or dummy. Hollywood make up artists can do this kind of stuff. BUT who would put in the hundreds of hours it would have taken to insert all that hair, one by one, into a latex form? Just to hoax a bigfoot blogger? Wouldn't you think they'd rather get the publicity of sending it to Fox News or CNN? To me, this is way too elaborate to be a hoax, considering the person they are trying to hoax. Why would a hoaxer, go to that extent to hoax Ms/Mrs. Hovey?

Please read more on her blog about how she obtained the photo. I respect the manner in which she communicates with the witness. To read more, click here.

So many want to tear a witness down. It takes a tremendous amount of courage to come forward with stories of encounters. In my eyes, RESPECT is first and foremost. Witnesses are where we learn the most from, until that time we are lucky enough to experience the same things the witnesses have, while we are out conducting field research. I don't think any of us really have. Not to the extent that some witnesses have. That's why we do what we do. We squatch.

SASQUATCH SIGHTING: Sierra Nevada Sighting Report From Mammoth Mountain, 1989

Mammoth Mountain California

I recently received a comment related to a past article, "VIDEO: Tracking Bifoot in the Sierras."

"My best buddy and I were skiing at Mammoth mountain in 1989. When a storm blew in later in the afternoon! We rode chair 23 right before they closed the top of the mountain and took our time coming down the face in the whiteout conditions. We took the wrong way down on a run that was already closed(mid mountain) and came to a intermediate run that was vacant. We were doing about 20-30 mph when(I was first) came around a bend and to the left up on the fall line by the tree break...was something I will never forget. It was standing there on two feet with snow on it's fur..just watching us go by! When I got to the end of the run...about 1/8 mile away...I turned to ask my buddy....but before I could speak..he said"what the hell was that"? ...we saw bigfoot that day. James"

I'd love to follow up on this sighting more. Please email me at stbigfoot@gmail.com.

Sasquatch Video: Does Anyone Know the Origin of This?

I've seen this video pop up a few times, and since it is in our "hood," I've become more interested in it and was wondering if anyone knows who shot it? I'd love to get in touch with the person and discuss it further.

Please let me know! I can be contacted at stbigfoot@gmail.com

The Rise of Bigfoot, TV, And Those Who Squatch

I've been looking at the recent search engine tags that have directed people here to SierraTahoeBigfoot.com. My hits are way up, and I'm sure it has to do with the popularity of the new show, Finding Bigfoot on Animal Planet. All of us who have the bigfoot bug, squatchfluenza, love to watch any and all squatch TV. Now, I think what the show has done, is bring a lot of bigfooty people out of the closet. Last year, I wrote about the stigma that goes along with being a "believer." Funny enough, it was when I was writing about Cliff Barackman, getting robbed of first place in a contest he participated in. (click to read more) Now look at him! For the noobs to my site, Cliff's blog was the inspiration for mine. I think I wrote about it at one point, and I know I did talk about it on my interview with Nite Callers Radio.

Yada, yada, yada...My point is? There are a lot more of you squatchy people out there than I thought there was!

This brings me to my next observation. By looking at some of the other tag words bringing people to this website, it seems as though there is a boom in those wanting to start their own quest to see a sasquatch. The main reason I do it is because I want to see one for myself. I've been interested in them since I was a kid in the 70s. Since I've been actively blogging, most of the folks I've talked to, that have seen a squatch tell me, "Be careful what you wish for." One guy I know of actually had a form of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) after he had an encounter last year. It involved pine cones being thrown into camp, and then waking up to one looking down on him through the ventilation screen, in the roof of his tent. He hasn't wanted to share more than that. End of story. It wasn't a violent encounter, but sometimes we react differently than we think we will. I'm sure most of us would be a little shook up after seeing the "boogeyman" for the first time. What I'd hate is for this type of unforseen reaction, to have a bad outcome. Either someone could wind up with PTSD, or worse yet, shoot one out of fear, or have a run in with a squatch that has been hurt by humans, and then decides to protect itself.

I'm not trying to deter anyone from going out on their own little sasquatch adventure. After all, most sightings are accidental, on the squatches part. They just wander into the path of an oncoming human, and get seen. With each encounter having varying degrees of reaction. Just remember, they are a lot smarter than most people give them credit for. Those of us that beat the bushes, dawning our GPS devices and cameras, have very little success in actually seeing one. I know I've been close to them, I know they were around me, but I've yet to see one. I can tell you after what experiences I've had, no one can tell me they are not real. I know there is some other species of bipedal hominid out there.

Ok, so I'm missing being out in the Sierras pounding the pine needles, enjoying the squatch's domain, so herein lies the motivation for my little rant. I know the popularity of the subject is taking many of you out there for the first time. I just want you to think things through. Imagine different scenarios, if you were to have an encounter and what you would do. Please be safe, but please also be respectful of them. They have been here much longer than we have.

Update and a Comment on YouTube about Sasquatch

Hello Everyone! Man, I sure do miss squatchin! I'm here in Las Vegas for work, so I have not had a chance to get up to the Reno/Tahoe area to do any trips. since June. My kids are up there too, and I miss the heck out of them. So living and working down here in the big city is getting old for me.

We do believe that the southern end of the Sierra Range, like the Mount Charleston area, here outside Vegas, probably holds squatch, I just haven't had the time to get up there either. There were some older reports of prints found in a wash outside of Pahrump, and also more reported tracks along the Muddy River out toward Moapa/Glendale. There were archived reports of an actual sighting near the Nevada test site, off the 95, just northwest of Indian Springs. As soon as I get a chance to to make a squatchin trip, I will definately post an update here.

I just responded to a question posted at the SierraTahoeBigfoot channel on YouTube, and so I thought I'd post my response here.

Question from Uaegnome: on 3:30 to 3:40 right down in the middle was that your friend or bigfoot?

My Answer:

(Pt 1) What I'm thinking you see is a dark figure in the shadow of trees? I wish it were a squatch, but what it looks like to me is a juvenile pine tree, much of the shape of a small Christmas tree, which there are few of in the area. This is the area of our base camp. We do not usually get "activity" until dusk, and then some after sunrise.

**(What I did fail to mention was that no, it is not my friend Woodrat. He was back in base camp which was about 200 yards behind me, in relation to the area I was filming, during that segment of video in question.)

(Pt 2) We believe this is a travel corridor for them though out the day. In the day, this time of year, we think they are in the upper elevations, feeding on manzanita and currants. At night, they come down for water, and to possibly hunt mule deer that are abundant in the area.

(Pt 3) During the daylight hours, we usually spend our time hiking the upper elevations. When we're not at the upper elevations, we're looking for possible travel corridors and squatch sign. I highly recommend to any of you that are interested in bigfoot, to go out yourselves. Look at BFRO reports from your area, then look at google maps, and just look for spots you think that might be "squatchy" and just go for it! I love being out there. That's what it's all about. Thanks for the comment!

Squatching Tips: Just remember, that if you do go out there, to please be respectful of the squatch and their habitat. No camp fires, unless it is survival situation! Make noise to keep the bears away. Being quiet isn't going to trick the squatch, they know you're there... trust me. Let friends or family know where you are going to be, and when you expect to return. Print out a copy from google maps to point out the area you expect to be in, and try not to stray too far from your plans. Also make sure you practice safe outdoor survival techniques and be prepared for an emergency if it arises. Have fun and take care!

Re: NEW VIDEO

The second part of my 2 part video diary is uploaded and ready to view above. I will try to post more soon. Thanks everyone.

New Video

A new STBR Video, has been posted above. It is the first of 2 parts. A description of the Video can be found on youtube. I will post more about this video, some photos and a synoposis of our last trip of 2010. The northern Sierras have several feet of snow, in and around our area of research. We hope to make a trip out to lower elevations, where there is little to no snow, before the thaw. Just trying to coordinate schedules, finances, etc.

Thanks for your patience!

Using a Katadyn Vario Water Filtration System Out In the Field

When I'm out in the field, I carry a backup water filtration system in my pack. This last trip out, in September, my squatcing buddy, Woodrat and I, ran out of water. With nightime temperatures getting down into the low 20's, we drank a lot more tea and hot chocolate than we had anticipated.

Creek near base camp

About 100 yards from our base camp, there was a little dribble of creek that forms from an upwelling out of the ground, that runs about 70 feet, and then dries up, as it seeps back into the ground. We like this spot, as we believe it to be a travel corridor that the squatch use, down this specific canyon we were researching. We had vocalizations coming down the canyon on two different occasions after nightfall.

OK, I digress, as this is a review of the Katadyn Vario, not a squatching article. I will write about my last two outings soon. It's been a while I know, but better late than never.

I got my Katadyn Vario Water Microfilter from allfilters.com It's a great sourse for all brands of quality water filtration products for the home, garden and camping. The best thing about All Filters is that there is free shipping on most of their products, including the Vario.

Below are photos of how easy it is to use. It's a quality product. It's Swiss made. Enough said.

Attach the intake hose, to the intake port.

Attaching the output tube to the outlet port.

Insert the output hose into a clean storage container.

Set the weighted prefilter into a shallow pool, with the float adjusted for the depth, so that the weighted prefilter is not lying directly on the bottom. This is to keep less debris and silt from getting into the pump, though it can handle water of less clarity.

Pump and fill

The Katadyn Vario is easy to use and flow rate was pretty good. Took about 5 minutes of pumping for 1 gallon of fresh, clean water. Cleaning was easy too. When you get home, just follow the simple directions, included with the unit, in it's own, zippered nylon storage bag. It fits easily in my CamelBak backpack, even with all my other squatchin gear, and my 3 liter hydration bladder, full.

Remember to practice safety first out in the field. Water is key in survival situations. Make sure that your pack is properly outfitted in the event an emergency should arise. Take care out there, and squatch safely.

Discussing Sasquatch in the Sierras on Nite Callers Radio

My friend, Larry, of sierrasquatch.net, will be on Nite Callers Radio, along with my squatching buddy, Woodrat (Sasquatch Searcher), this Sunday, December 5, 2010 at 4pm PT. The show will focus on their research, and ideas on squatching. Joining them will be Woodrat's friend, Tractor, and I will be in there somewhere, lurking in the background. My last 3 squatch trips have been with Woodrat, so he wanted me in on the fun too.

If you can't listen at the scheduled time, click here and it will direct you to the link for the show, that will be saved in Nite Caller's archives.

I was on Nite Callers back in April, and had a blast. The link to that interview can be found by clicking here, or on the Nite Callers logo, on the right side of this page. Scroll down to the links to find it.

Hope you can join us.
