BIGFOOT: Sasquatch Sighting Report Near Woodfords, CA

I recently received the following report from a gentleman named Stan:

I may have had a Bigfoot sighting in September of 2011. I was returning in my Jeep from an off road run with the club we had been on in the area above and east of the town of Walker. I was headed back to South Lake Tahoe by myself. It was just before dark and I was on Hwy 88 just before the little town of Woodfords, when 2 large dark brown hairy creatures ran across Hwy 88, about 100 yards in front of me they were moving fast and leaning forward, I thought they were horses until I realized they were on 2 feet. They disappeared behind a berm, as I drove by slowly. There was a car that was stopped on the road that had been coming from the opposite direction, as I slowly went by the mans mouth was wide open in amazement. I did not stop because I did not know what I had seen.

The animals I saw appeared approximately 7ft.+ tall, at least. It was hard to tell, they were moving fast and leaning forward. They had either been in the mountains up s/w of Tahoe or in and around the cattle ranches in Gardnerville. They looked to be headed toward the Carson River or Indian Creek Reservoir.

Stan has extensive knowledge of the area's geography and topography as he is an officer in a large off-roading club. Looking back at previous reports from the area, I believe his theory on the subjects' area of travel was on point.

Sasquatch Takes A Picture

Nothing serious, just my new favorite commercial I wanted to share:

FEELING SQUATCHY?

I just wanted to take the time to thank those who have purchased merchandise from the STBR Shop on CafePress. I haven't check on the shop in quite a while, because honestly, it's averaged about one sale a year. It was just a little project I started and had fun with, thinking up a few designs. I'm no pro. I was just having fun on MS Paint. I actually did the STBR logo on Paint with my finger and the track pad on my laptop. I was just doodling around. It's not great, but it's mine.

Sales numbers aren't going to get a thermal imager anytime soon, but for me, I'm just completely jazzed that there are folks out there sporting Sierra Tahoe Bigfoot Research gear. I think the spike in sales can be attributed to the popularity of Finding Bigfoot on Animal Planet. Since it first aired, 12 shirts and a water bottle have sold. Women's wear is the most popular. Thank you ladies!

SASQUATCH: A Clear Picture of a Bigfoot? This Very Well Could Be

Here are my thoughts on the photo:

-Hair looks to be coming out of the skin, not mottled clumps glued to a suit.

-The detail seen in the skin. Most notably, an apparent recent wound on the lower left trapezius, that looks to have had dermis exposed and then it healed over. The skin also seems to have dirt built up, with splotchy dark spots around the pores. This is caused by the oils in the skin, exuded out the pores and then having the dirt build up around the pores, getting trapped by the oil.

-The thinning gray hair, just as we'd find on an older human. If you were going to hoax, wouldn't it be easier to use so much fur, that you couldn't see skin and need to do all that cosmetic work to the skin to make it look realistic?

-The musculature, especially the deltoids and how the trapezius rise up to the base of the skull, leaving no visible neck.

-It could be a very well done suit or dummy. Hollywood make up artists can do this kind of stuff. BUT who would put in the hundreds of hours it would have taken to insert all that hair, one by one, into a latex form? Just to hoax a bigfoot blogger? Wouldn't you think they'd rather get the publicity of sending it to Fox News or CNN? To me, this is way too elaborate to be a hoax, considering the person they are trying to hoax. Why would a hoaxer, go to that extent to hoax Ms/Mrs. Hovey?

So many want to tear a witness down. It takes a tremendous amount of courage to come forward with stories of encounters. In my eyes, RESPECT is first and foremost. Witnesses are where we learn the most from, until that time we are lucky enough to experience the same things the witnesses have, while we are out conducting field research. I don't think any of us really have. Not to the extent that some witnesses have. That's why we do what we do. We squatch.
